Bulldog Gear - Plate Loaded Double Leg Press Machine

The Bulldog Gear Double Leg Press machine has been extensively biomechanically tested. The ergonomic geometry in the machine’s unique double plate design allows compound muscular movements to be performed not only safely and efficiently, but unilaterally, working each leg independently of the other, accurately replicating the movement patterns of the human body and balancing out weaknesses and asymmetry.

Minimal welds, optimum strength

The main frames of the machine are made from (RHS) rectangular hollow section steel (100 x 50 mm) then CNC bent ensuring precision, strength and safety. This manufacturing process provides a fully rigid platform with no shaking during use. All moving arms are manufactured from 60 x 40 RHS using automatic tube bending to ensure there are no welds in the arm sub assemblies. 

Product features

Machine arms are able to move independently of each other allowing you to train each limb simultaneously or separately, you can adjust the load for each limb if required. This feature is particularly helpful in a rehabilitation scenario or addressing strength imbalances. 

Each machine arm is loadable to 600kg and with 6 loadable pins, it’s super easy to adjust weight quickly if workout out with a partner of higher or lower lifting capability. 

Don't compromise on comfort

Handles are solid 25mm diameter steel that are immersion coated for comfort and grip, designed for both horizontal / vertical grip to vary exercise and stimulus. All Bulldog machines feature ergonomic pads made with durable reconstituted foam and automotive grade upholstery including hygienic antibacterial resistant vinyl. The adjustable backrest gives you the option to find an angle comfortable for you and reduces the likelihood of a lower back strain. High grade pillow block bearings provide smooth movement of machine arms when in use allowing you to focus and perform without the worry of jolted movement or machine integrity.  

Improved functionality

The footplates can be a limiting feature on traditional leg press machines but at 1400mm x 500mm Bulldog’s is twice the size allowing for a much more comprehensive variety of foot positions. This allows you to develop strength and stability in a full range of  foot positions from wide stance squat, or a sumo deadlift to more narrow foot placement - all transferable if you’re also looking to develop technique and stability with free weights. 

Adding resistance to your plate loaded machine

Top and bottom band pegs give you the option of safely attaching resistance bands as a training aid. Resistance bands are a great way to enable constant resistance throughout the whole lift to ensure your muscles are still being placed under just as much tension in each portion of the exercise. This allows you to target small areas of weakness and add a bit of spice to those lighter weights if you don’t have as many loadable plates. It’s a safer way to work towards heavier loads with a much lower risk of injury.
