Job description
Head of Finance
Key Responsibilities will Include
- Manage the day-to-day finance function
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Daily credit control and monthly payment runs
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions into Sage
- Conduct all month-end procedures and prepare monthly management accounts
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and
discrepancies and suggest improvements.
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Quarterly VAT return & payment
- Monthly PAYE return & Payment in conjunction with company accountants
- Maintain accurate company HR records eg: contracts, staff holiday entitlement
- Maintain and update company records at Companies House
- Ensure accountancy backups are conducted at regular intervals to comply with applicable laws and insurance policies
- Manage purchase ledger clerk
- Support the implementation of SAP Business One Implementation across the business
Assist Managing Director with tender applications

Knowledge, experience & skills required
- Experienced on Sage 50 accounting software
- Possesses a good standard of numeracy and literacy, and IT competent
- Competency in MS Office, Excel
- Proven accounting experience, with experience as an Accounts receivable clerk or Accounts payable clerk
- Good communication skills and customer focussed
- (Preferable) Experience with SAP accounting system
